We are happy to report that IZI has been awarded a challenging new assignment in Iran, which aims to support the development of Fishermen’s Associations in the Chabahar area in the south-east of the country. The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) offered us the opportunity to participate in this important project for Iran’s future. The aim of the project is to deepen knowledge of the best practices of the main international fishing associations, with a particular focus on yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares), in order to increase employment opportunities for young people, and provide useful information to promote a sustainable and inclusive development of the national fishing industry.
IZI spa will provide its expertise in the fisheries sector. The assignment includes a final Workshop, open to all fishermen’s associations in Iran, to share the results of the entire study.
