Repubblica wrote about it today, in the pages of the Roman chronicle: the Romans, for the primaries, bet on Bonaccini.
We asked the centre-left voters of Rome which of the candidates already running for the Democratic Party secretariat they would choose in the primaries, to be held in a few months’ time. The result is very interesting: only two weeks after the official candidacy, Elly Schlein collects a round 30%, former minister Paola De Micheli totals 14% and the winner, at least for now, is Stefano Bonaccini, governor of Emilia Romagna, with a resounding 41%. But the game is still absolutely open: the vice-president of Emilia Romagna, Schlein, could rise and mark ‘her president’, at least as a first scenario.
The outcome of the Rome poll also gives us an idea of what possible party ‘sensitivities’ close to the Roman PD might support.
We will soon find out.
