IZI Methods, Analysis and Economic Evaluations spa was founded in 1984 by a group of young and motivated fresh graduates in Economics and Statistics. Its headquarters is today located in Rome, close to the stunning historic site of Villa Torlonia.
IZI was born as a company specialized in economic and financial evaluations, feasibility studies of public investment programs and projects, and in general in all methodological and applicative studies in the economic and social sector. Over its 30 years of activity, it experimented new paths of professional development in response to the changing and evolving dynamics of the market. The company expanded its areas of activity towards projects of technical assistance in support to the public administration for the management of projects and programs co-financed by the European Union, through the structural investment funds, and towards the monitoring of the quality of public services, in addition to market research and statistical surveys.
Today IZI is one of the most important consulting company specialized in working with the public sector and with large private companies in Italy.
The 1980s
IZI was born in the ’80s, when the sector of professional and specialized consulting to the Italian Public Administration and Institutions flourished, in particular with respect to the economic and financial evaluation of public investment projects and programs (feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, project financing).
IZI’s first assignment consisted in the implementation of a new model of cost-benefit analysis for a consortium of enterprises to prepare a land reclamation project to be funded through the FIO (Fondo Investimenti ed Occupazione) – Investment and Employment Fund. All following assignments had a focus on agricultural and infrastructural projects and on the local economy.
The 1990s
During the 1990s, IZI enlarged its areas of expertise into new sectors of activity:
- Business promotion through technical assistance, specialized consulting and tutoring for business creation.
- Monitoring of expenses – investments and management expenses of self-employed individuals who benefit from public concessions and facilitation schemes.
- Programs and projects related to the recovery and enhancement of the cultural heritage; analysis and studies related to the involvement of the private sector in the management of the public cultural heritage.
- Economic and financial assessments in the transport and health sector.
- EU programs: technical assistance, monitoring and evaluation assignments for the implementation of programs co-financed through the European Structural investment funds.
The 2000s

IZI consolidates itself in the sector of surveys, market research, and opinion polls, acquiring itself over time with professionalism with specific skills in the fields of statistics, informatic, but also in various sectors of application of the surveys themselves (economic-social, transport, environment, consumer goods, etc.)

From 2020 to today
The passion for research, numbers, and innovation has given birth to a new digital division. Since 2020, IZILab put together techniques and methods of artificial intelligence and machine learning with traditional research systems to provide tailor-made consultancy on topics such as web reputation, social media analysis, and data visualization.
IZI Lab was born as a spin-off of IZI Methods, analysis, and economic evaluations. The goal is to support and promote new business ideas, based on accurate analysis of new heterogeneous and complex data flows and the dynamic visualization of digital data.
IZI is organized around 4 areas
- Technical Assistance and Evaluation of EU Programs and Projects,
- Statistical surveys, market research, and opinion polls,
- Monitoring of the quality of public services,
- Support to local development policies.
Synergies and opportunities for exchange and integration between these four areas are always exploited, in a process of integration and constant evolution, guaranteeing flexibility and complementarity in the knowledge and expertise within the various divisions of the company.

The company resources include:
- a consolidated network from 250 to 1000 C.A.P.I. analysts with relevant equipment locally operating;
- a team of surveyors/interviewers specialized in Mystery Client surveys and in Customer Satisfaction interviews;
- a C.A.T.I. center equipped with 45 stations, extendable to 125 in the peripheral operative offices.
Quality Assurance
IZI is certified according to the UNI EN ISO 9001: 2015 standard for the following services:
- economic, financial and process evaluation;
- feasibility studies
- technical assistance;
- monitoring, administrative, financial and technical audit of investment plans and programs
- methodological and applicative studies in the economic and social sector;
- market analysis, sample surveys, opinion polls.
